Safety Tips & Harm Reduction
Using substances responsibly and safely
⚠️ Your Health Matters: Darkmatter Market does not endorse illegal drug use. If you choose to use substances, this guide helps you do so more safely. Always prioritize your health and well-being.
Substance Testing
ALWAYS test substances before use:
Testing Kits:
- Fentanyl test strips: Detect deadly fentanyl contamination (DanceSafe, BTNX)
- Reagent tests: Identify substance type (Marquis, Mecke, Mandelin)
- Lab testing: Send sample to lab for full analysis (Energy Control, DrugsData)
🚨 Fentanyl Crisis: Even small amounts of fentanyl can be lethal. Test EVERY batch, even from trusted vendors. It only takes one contaminated batch to kill you.
Start Low, Go Slow
- New substance: Take 1/4 of normal dose first time
- New vendor: Test small amount before consuming full dose
- Batch variation: Potency varies. Always start conservative.
- Wait time: Give substance time to take effect before redosing
Never Use Alone
Overdose prevention:
- Have sober friend present (or video call)
- Use NeverUseAlone hotline: 1-800-484-3731 (USA)
- Keep naloxone (Narcan) on hand for opioid overdoses
- Know overdose signs: Unconsciousness, slow breathing, blue lips
Set and Setting
Mindset ("set"):
- Only use when mentally stable
- Avoid if depressed, anxious, or stressed
- Know why you're using (recreation vs escape)
Environment ("setting"):
- Safe, comfortable location
- Trusted people present
- No responsibilities for 24+ hours
- Emergency services accessible if needed
Poly-Drug Risks
Dangerous combinations (can be fatal):
- ❌ Opioids + Alcohol (respiratory depression)
- ❌ Opioids + Benzodiazepines (overdose risk)
- ❌ Stimulants + Depressants (heart strain)
- ❌ MAOI antidepressants + MDMA (serotonin syndrome)
- ❌ Tramadol + MDMA (seizure risk)
Always research interactions: Check TripSit combo chart or Erowid before mixing substances.
Addiction Prevention
- Set usage rules and stick to them (e.g., once per month maximum)
- Track frequency (journal or app)
- Take tolerance breaks
- If daily use develops, seek help (SAMHSA: 1-800-662-4357)
- Be honest with yourself about dependency
Legal Consequences
Package seizure:
- If package is seized, you'll receive "love letter" (seizure notice)
- Do NOT respond or sign for redelivery
- Package interception is NOT proof you ordered it (plausible deniability)
- If law enforcement contacts you: SAY NOTHING, request lawyer immediately
Controlled delivery:
- If asked to sign for unexpected package, refuse
- Don't open package if you suspect controlled delivery
- Opening package can be considered "acceptance"

The Bottom Line
Drug use carries risks. No amount of harm reduction makes it 100% safe. But these practices significantly reduce harm.
